An open letter about players safety in Airsoft Games

Player safety has always been a hallmark of Fun On The Run. The number one safety factor when playing Airsoft is ones eye protection. Our eyes cannot be replaced and are a gift that is only giving to us once. With this single thought in mind, all players should want to protect their eyes with the safest goggle systems on the market.

We do understand that they are many factors that go into choosing the system you chose, style, price, availability or what your friend has. However, the most important factor needs to be overall safety. A one-piece ASTM approved goggle system, much like used in paintball is the safest system on the market, according to test done by Airsoft Hawaii. Their testing showed paintball mask was shot repeatedly (at over 400 feet per second. 400fp is our limit) with no damage to the goggle lens, frame or facemask. No other goggle system in their testing came close to that level of protection. (1)

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends the use of paintball-style protective eyewear goggles that meet certain safety standards while using air guns. (2)

This level of protection does not only protect one’s eyes, it gives full protection to the ears, temple, face, and teeth. An airsoft bb has been known to damage teeth, so this protection is also a great factor when considering a good safe goggle system, plus we all know that dental work does not come cheap.

Come April 28, 2018, Fun on the Run will only allow participation in airsoft play with a one-piece ASTM approved goggle system. We will no longer allow any type of two-piece goggle and face protection. No exceptions will be made.

With all this said, we know a few people may say that you want to wear the two-piece google and face protection, you feel they are safe enough. We understand you might feel that our safety standards are too rigid and choose not to play here. We understand this may cost us business, ultimately may cost us money. However, we are willing to sacrifice our profit for our player’s safety. We hope that no matter where you play you consider your safety the most important factor to you and the game of airsoft.

Sincerely,
David Creamer

Fun on the Run Paintball Park Team Building Group Activities
Many of America's leading corporations are turning to Paintball in corporate training. Training & Development magazine recently showed American Corporations spend $800 million annually on paintball games.

Fun on the Run Paintball Park, has proven to be an extremely popular paintball park for corporate events, because paintball is excellent for team building. Fun On The Run’s team building paintball outing is designed to engage a team in an activity which demands various skills and techniques.

In working together to combat the opponent, a paintball team develops communication skills, planning and cooperation, decision-making and effective use of resources. In this way, the consolidation of a team throughout a paintball game proves to be one of the best team-building activities. This new approach to facilitation and experiential education combines the thrilling experience of a paintball game with the sequenced facilitation of an educational adventure.

Before beginning play, each person is outfitted with a paintball face mask, and a paintball marker which uses .68 caliber, water-soluble paintballs. A referee explains the safety rules, and then instructs the teams in a variety of incredibly fun and challenging games that will focus on your groups stated goals. Team Paintball is excellent for developing advanced problem solving skills, communication, and group coordination.

Paintball is a competitive game played like any other competitive game, to win. It is like a more challenging, high-stakes version of tag, hide-and-seek, or capture the flag. Because you shoot at other people and get shot at! Fun on the Run Paintball Park's Team Building Activities can be played with as few as two people or as many as 500; a game can last 5 minutes or a half hour; it’s objective might be to take something, bring something, find something, or to simply be the last person standing.

Depending on the game play you choose tactics will vary -- from being quiet and sneaky and picking your shots carefully, to being loud, fast, and shooting constantly. A paintball game can is different every time, but there’s one thing that stays the same: it’s an adrenaline rush.

Paintball Marker Speed Adjustment

All  Paintball Markers need to be checked by a paintball chronograph each time they are used, to ensure they are not shooting too fast. Paintballs can leave massive welts and bruises, if shooting to fast. At Fun On The Run Paintball Park,  we set the speed of markers at 285 F.P.S. (Feet Per Second) each day of play and tag the marker to let us know it has been checked for that day. Also if you are shooting too slow, paintballs won't break on your target, which is no fun!

Need help with adjusting your paintball marker or the knowledge about i, come by the Fun On The Run Pro Shop and ask a rep.

Paintball Tool Box Check List

Ever wish you had a list what a tournament player keeps in his tool box, as they travel to play paintball. Here is a list of personal tools every player should bring to the event or paintball park
Even if you have no knowledge of how to fix your marker or equipment, having the tools to do so is still a good idea!

" As a former professional paintball player and a master paintball tech I have been to many parks and events where someone's marker needed a quick repair, but they had no tools or parts to do so. With out the the tools and parts, other players and I could not lend any knowledge or a helping hand. With a marker that needs repair, they were left using a rental marker or calling it a day. If they just had a basic tool and parts kit for their marker setup, they could have been up and running in a few minutes. " ----David Creamer Former Professional Paintball Player
